Clinic FAQs

Patient Portal
At 1st Choice Pediatrics, we utilize an up-to-date electronic medical records system to better serve our patients. By simply providing us with your email address, we can send you an invitation to sign up for portal access.

The portal is an innovative and secure way for parents to contact the clinic regarding non-emergent patient care, obtain lab/test results, and access important health information (i.e. shot records). The patient portal also allows us to send appointment reminders and referral information to parents via email.

Hospital Affiliations
Dr. McCrory is on staff at both Good Shepherd Medical Center and Longview Regional Medical Center. Good Shepherd also has pediatric hospitalists on staff to provide the best quality care for 1st Choice Pediatrics patients.

Forms and Medical Records
All new patient paperwork is available online (see Parent Page) and we recommend that you bring completed forms with you to your initial appointment. However, you are always welcome to complete forms at the time of your office visit.
Please allow a one week turn around for any paperwork requiring a provider’s signature.

We will be happy to forward your child’s medical records to another office with a signed release form.

Medication Refills
Medication refills are completed during regular clinic hours. We do not call in antibiotics over the phone. We will refill ADHD medications within 24 hours of your request. Please note, ADHD prescriptions become void if they are not filled within 21 days.

Your pharmacy may fax a refill request to us at (903) 230-0242.

In Case of Emergency
Emergency medical services are provided at both Good Shepherd Medical Center and Longview Regional Medical Center. If your child requires emergency services, please go to the closest Emergency Room or call 911. If you are unsure if your child needs to be evaluated by the emergency physician, please call our office for advice.
